Dream of A Future
I have a dream
I have a purpose
Say we who dare to dream
Who sees a glimpse of hope
Who sees opportunities for tomorrow
Who thinks we have a right to dream and demand from society and the divine
Dream, hope, expectations
Does it apply to the 6years old
Diagnosed with HIV contracted from an Uncle, teacher ……?
What are the thoughts of 13years old married off and pregnant?
The 17years old with her 5th pregnancy?
What is in the horizon
For the 9years old sex toy of 16 men?
Society what say yea?
To our children
Who are burdened with carnal knowledge forcefully bestowed
Who speaks for them?
Who ensures the preservation of innocence?
Weeping for childhood
Weeping for ignorance
Weeping for justification not justifiable yet we find justifications in places that ought to abhor such
Yes say I it!!
Our mutated brains’ contortions of religion and culture
Even that our ancestors abhor we justify
Leave thou our children
Obliterate not childhood
Generations of vipers we become when we quite keep.
