Lonely Crowd

Crowded spaces
The most lonely places
Lonely in the midst of crowd
Everyone is there
No one is there
Everyone is talking
Deafening noise
We hear nothing
Is a mime
It means nothing
All noise, No sound
Is suffocating
A lot of yelling
Yet too much bottled inside
Stories untold hidden in the crevices of troubled minds
Memories buried in dark graves of depression
Mmmhhhh.....hmmmmm....mmmmhhh I cant breathe
Crowded spaces
Skin to skin, Sweat to sweat,
Touching yet not touchable
The distance is like the endless sea
Eyes collide, drift, collide again
The Souls wanders alone amidst the crowd
Reach out or not to reach out
The troubled mind of one seeking to connect
The fear..............
Scorn may await
Shame a certainty
Bearing the scars alone, the journey of abused and troubled soul
If only we know, how high society's wall
Crowded spaces, the scariest places
Surreal moments
Floating never settling
Exhausting trying to connect
Cannot connect for it is a mirage
Crowded spaces
The most lonely places

To Express or Not To Express

Expression
Some have the freedom to express
Yet words fail them
People fail them
Others have words
The audience is available
Yet the freedom is in bondage
Bondage by society norms
Bondage by law and decree
Bondage because we do not know how
Bondage as our expression will be scorned
Overwhelming joy, scorned when expressed
Sadness and deep depression scorned when expressed
Differing opinions persecuted and ambushed
Bondage from fear of the unknown
Expression must have an audience for one to truly express
Freedom to express can only be truly achieved
When those seeking to express have an audience open to listen
An audience that can listen
To words expressed
To words mimed
To the eyes glittering with joy
To the eyes glittering with deep sorrow
To a body in motion
To a body standing still
Grant me audience
That I may express myself

A Sit, A Voice, A Space

A sit at the table
The contention for space
Getting that spot at the table
The struggle for entry
The realization of the contentions at the table
A sit, A voice, A space
How loud to be heard
How aggressive to maintain a voice
How impressive to be recorded
A sit, A voice, A space
A healthy competition or suppression of others
A game of chess or just narcissistic craftiness
We run circles around each other
All eyes on the space
Is it a game of survival?
Is it crafting a pathway for solutions?
Never a clear answer for we need to survive for solutions to thrive
Is the end goal a shared space
Is the end goal to occupy
You tell me
Shared spaces and collaboration is the talk
Scheming for space to occupy is the walk
A sit, A voice, A space
We need to be in the space
We need to be heard
We must be recorded
Shared? Occupied?
You tell me

Human Rights and Poverty Reduction Exploring Relevance of Legal Empowerment of the Poor in Poverty Reduction in Nigeria

 Human Rights and Poverty Reduction
In recent years human rights and poverty reduction have been in the forefront of international discussions and development strategies. The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) aim to eradicate poverty in developing countries/world by 2015. However, how far have recent approaches worked and what crucial elements have been neglected? This book draws attention to the crucial element of legal empowerment and how relevant it should be for all poverty reduction strategies. It looks at poverty from human rights perspective and brings to the fore the innovative approach that legal empowerment of the poor arms communities and individuals with the necessary power needed to challenge oppressive patterns of legal, social, political and economic organization which cause and perpetuate poverty. This book provides deep insight for legal scholars, economists, those working in development circles and on poverty issues around the world. It focuses on Nigeria a developing country in Africa faced with challenging complexities of bad governance, corruption, lack of infrastructure, geographical challenges, obsolete laws, oppressive social and political organization and 70% population living in poverty. Nigeria Breast Implants

We had a breast
We fed from the the breast
We sucked it dry

They came to rectify it
They promised to surgically restore our breastfeeding

We waited in anticipation
We looked forward to the change
The canvas was unveiled
Uncertainty set in
We could no longer decipher what shape or form the breast had taken
Are those implants?
Are they popping out?
Can we drink from these breast?

Now we wail and wail and wail
Our breastfeeding have been cut off
The supplements suspended

Is our right to breastfeed
Our development have been set back
We are floundering
We are in constant darkness
We are paralysed
We can barely move around
We faint
We hunger
We wonder
Where is our salvation

2016 budget our hope
To rectify this ongoing surgical procedure
We hope
We wait
Let Nigeria arise

Love is Power

Love is power
That power with double edge sword
Oh!! is an amazing place to be loved
For someone to completely live to make your life bloom
Is healing to thine soul

Love is power
Power you bestow on another
Power that says I have given up control
The courage to do that completely is borderline crazy
You hand over power to another

Love is power
This power another uses to crush you
This power can utterly make you loose you
This power has the ability to question your sanity
Harsh reality to face
When you seek love, understand is power you may gain or loose

Love is power
Sinking in this abyss
You question when to pull back
When to give 100%
When to hit self preservation reset

Do we give up the power?
Do we pull back?
What is our human capacity?
Who protects us when we hand over this power to another?

I have no answers
I have no rhetoric
I have no wise quotes

All I know is, Love is Power
Determine to thine self be true

Love is Power

Stupidity

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid
A word I find myself using too often these days.

Have I missed the meaning?
Or is human brain regressing in this advanced century

I often wonder!!
Am more perplexed each day
I seek to understand
Has stupidity become norm rather than random?

Maybe it has been re-defined and I missed that class
Maybe the ratio had always been this high but obscured until social platforms Expo

What are your thoughts?
Which category are you?
Are you amongst those who common sense has eluded?

Alien invasion
Humanity regression
Evident in low brain function
Capabilities diminshed
Look at mirrored you
Make sure stupidity is not you, reside in and with you.
